FAITH IN ACTION: Our Community & Civic Engagement
Faith in Action is our community’s commitment to living out our beliefs by building meaningful relationships and actively participating in civic life. This page is a hub for opportunities to connect with neighbors, participate in constructive civic events, and make a tangible difference in our local area. Strengthening the fabric of our neighborhood begins with genuine human connection. Our upcoming Experiences focus on creating spaces for open dialogue, mutual support, and community bonding across diverse backgrounds.
B.R.I.D.G.E.-POD MINISTRY
Building Up Relationships that are Intentional about Difference, which says Godly love Embraces Everyone Portable On Demand
OUR MISSION: BRIDGE-POD aims to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from marginalized or labeled PODs, to create spaces for reconciliation and civil discourse. Our central goal is to create environments where the humanity of each individual is embraced and, in doing so, to provide opportunities to experience God’s love. C.S. Song [1] describes such spaces as “places where God happens.” Each member then has a personal mission to take the mission of B.R.I.D.G.E.-POD into their respective communities and build additional populations that will continue to ensure that LOVE WINS. [1} C.S. Song, The Believing Heart: An Invitation to Story Theology (Minneapolis: Augsburg Fortress, 1999), 48.
ABOUT US: Bridge was formed on April 5, 2024, and hosted its inaugural meeting at the Dover United Church of Christ on May 9, 2024. The first B.R.I.D.G.E. POD was created and established with the Dover United Church of Christ, Pastor Cam Richesson.
MEMBERSHIP: Membership is open to anyone regardless of gender, faith, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and economic status.
SCHEDULED MEETINGS: B.R.I.D.G.E-POD convenes seven times (Mondays) throughout the year at two locations. We invite all individuals who share our desire to embrace each other with love and are prepared to engage in dedicated efforts.
